Prora - The Colossus bears in Pomerania as the largest hotel in the world. Moreover, 10 000 rooms all overlooking the beach. Strangely, no guests staying here. Why?

     Pomerania is a historical region near the Baltic Sea, located between Germany and Poland. 70 years ago, the hotel was built along the 4.8 kilometer there were to be the largest hotel in the world. The Colossus is the name of his hotel in the city of Rugen, State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Surprisingly, there has never been any guests staying there.

     From the Daily Mail, Monday (21/01/2013), the hotel is built on the will of Adolf Hitler, the Nazi leader. The initial goal was to build a hotel for the means tourists who want to vacation at the edge of the Baltic Sea.

     This hotel development takes 3 years with 5,000 workers. Hitler had been thinking about his dream resort perfectly. He has to think about where cruise ships can be pulled over and also plans to create a rail line from Berlin and Hamburg here to facilitate its guests.

     Unfortunately, shortly after his dream resort so, World War II broke out. The hotel even be a military barracks before there was a guest who tried to stay in it. After the war, Hotel Colossus is not as beautiful as the first.

     Since Hitler died of his powers and Germany reunited, the hotel was blank. Remnants of war atrocities still feels that nobody wants to try to spend the night there.

     Even so, Pomerania still have a hidden paradise. Thousands of tourists are always crowded during the summer Usedom Island. Beautiful beaches and sunny weather so the right destination to spend a holiday in the sunshine typical summer.
