Market Night Celebration Sekaten (PMPS) or better known as Sekatenan is an annual event in commemoration of Prophet Muhammad SAW Maulid. Sekatenan held in the square are two palaces, the Yogyakarta and Surakarta.

     Sekatenan was originally held as part of syi'ar Islam. But this time, Sekatenan better known as a party of the people.

     For me, the origin Bantul Solo student who likes photography, definitely will not miss this annual folk festival performances. Unique and interesting! Residents enjoy a cornucopia of rides and games there.

     Some people might consider Sekatenan less attractive, or tend to be boring. Events, rides, and indeed almost the same suasanannya each year. But for local residents, would bring fresh Sekatenan. Moreover, for those who live in remote villages, far inland. Sekatenan is entertainment for them, and for me is always fun.
